Building Community Through Literacy and Book Access

The Leaders Readers Network (TLRN) Literacy Fellowship is a dedicated team of Pre-K–12 educators from diverse teaching and leadership backgrounds who are committed to increasing literacy opportunities in their classrooms, grade levels, and entire schools.

The Literacy Fellowship Community

We strive to empower educators by providing resources and support to expand literacy access for students. Through collaboration, book access, and community engagement, we help educators create lasting literacy initiatives that impact entire school communities while building community for our educators who are committed to supporting the most important lives, children.

How It Works

Each participating educator:
✅ Supports their classroom and teacher teams with book access and service projects.
✅ Engages community volunteer readers in family literacy events and school-wide book giveaways.
✅ Works alongside fellow educators to share lesson ideas, service projects, and strategies to enhance literacy growth and teacher support.

Over a three-year period, educators build excitement for reading, foster community involvement, and develop sustainable literacy initiatives.

“I am incredibly grateful for the impact that The Leaders Readers Network has had on my teaching, student learning, and family literacy engagement. The books provided by TLRN have enhanced literature in my classroom, bringing diversity to the books in my classroom library and in the hands of my students.”

Nichole Sills | Canyon ISD

“As an elementary school librarian working at a Title 1 campus, the partnership that we have with The Leaders Readers Network (TLRN) has been invaluable. TLRN has provided our students the opportunity to receive free books, cultivating a love of reading and book ownership. This collaboration helps to instill the importance of service and working toward a greater good as well.”

Linda Moore| Northside ISD

“TLRN has facilitated the distribution of books in both English and Spanish greatly expanding the options for reading materials to my students, and also reinforcing a love for reading in all of my students. A huge Thank you for the work that TLRN does in promoting literacy among schools and communities, specially at schools like mine, where students typically lack opportunities to immerse in literacy beyond school hours.”
