  • "My first giveaway was Matthew Gray Gubler’s book, Rumple Buttercup. It was a huge success! My kids loved handing out the books, and our 5th graders loved receiving them. They were even more excited when they learned they could keep and take them home. Our grade level did a 2 day novel study, which students were very engaged in. I had 5th graders thanking me all day and many parents and other teachers reached out to say the book was a hit and new fave for some of the kiddos! One of my limited English multilingual students even asked if she could keep re-reading it during independent reading."

  • “My students were deeply moved by the book they received. After reading it aloud to the class, I asked who would like the book, then shared the exciting news that everyone would be taking one home!”

    Keke Powell, Sunfield Elementary

  • "The first giveaway that I did in my classroom was LIFE CHANGING! My students came back the next day saying how excited they were to read these books to their siblings, and carrying it every day in their backpack to read when they could! They loved that it was their book and that they did not have to give it back. My students were honored to have received their books, they said they felt so lucky!"

Jessica Torres, Sylvia Mendez CREW Leadership Academy

  • "One exceptional moment from our book giveaway occurred when a young girl picked up her very first book to own—a brightly illustrated story about a courageous heroine who reminded her of herself. Her eyes lit up with excitement as she clutched it to her chest, telling us she couldn’t wait to read it to her little brother at home."

Digna M. Martínez Ramos, Leap Steam+ Agriculture Science university school of Mayagüez

  • "During our book giveaway, one exceptional moment was watching a Pre-K student run up to her mother with a book in her hands and shout, “This one is mine forever!” Her excitement was contagious soon other children were sitting on the floor, opening their books right away, and pointing out letters and pictures to their families. Parents shared how meaningful it was to take books home, especially for families who don’t always have access to age-appropriate reading materials. That moment captured the true impact of the giveaway: students building pride in ownership, families celebrating literacy together, and a community united in the joy of reading."
