Join us for the 2025 Panhandle Gives

The Panhandle Gives is an annual event hosted and coordinated by the Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF). The event begins on the Monday before Thanksgiving and ends on the global day of giving known as Giving Tuesday. This year, that's November 24 - December 2, 2025.  There are hundreds of organizations in the Texas Panhandle participating in this community effort to raise funds for our community.

The Leaders Readers Network (TLRN) invites you to be part of our Reading Movement this Panhandle Gives season! Together, we can make a lasting impact on literacy across the Texas Panhandle.

This year, our goal is to expand literacy access and support for educators and students in underfunded schools. Your donation directly fuels classroom libraries, read-aloud experiences, and service projects that build empathy, leadership, and a lifelong love of reading.

Every dollar makes a difference:

  • $50 provides 10 students with books

  • $100 supports a classroom with books

  • $150 supports two educators with literacy resources

  • $250 empowers five Student Literacy Leaders

  • $500 brings read-alouds and book giveaways to five classrooms

At TLRN, we partner with educators, students, and community members to provide over 50,000 new books each school year—books that spark joy, curiosity, and connection. Through our Literacy Fellowship and Student Literacy Leader Program, teachers receive ongoing support and students discover the power of leadership through literacy.

But too many children across the Panhandle still face barriers to reading success. Many schools lack access to books and resources, leaving students behind before third grade—a crucial milestone for lifelong learning. Together, we can change that.

Join us to support educators and classrooms across the Texas Panhandle. Your support ensures that every child has the opportunity to open a book, imagine new worlds, and believe in their potential.

“The Leaders Readers Network has impacted my students by putting grade level text in their hands.  I have watched the joy of reading come back to life.  My students ask to read the books to their classmates or if they can go read to another teacher.   They are proud to share their love for reading.” -Janiece Littlejohn, Amarillo ISD’s Hamlet Elementary

“After I read the book and I tell them they each get their own copy to keep, I pass them out and we take time to look at and read our own books. Then we get to take them home to share with our families. They are always so excited. Many times they bring these books back for me to read to the class again. They love being able to bring a book from home for us to share. It is such a blessing to be a part of that.” -Linda Brown, Canyon ISD’S Lakeview Elementary teacher

“Book giveaway days are truly my favorite! After we read and discuss the story together, I hand out a copy to each student and tell them it’s theirs to keep and enjoy at home. Seeing their faces light up with joy as they realize the book is their very own is absolutely priceless. I’m truly grateful to The Leaders Readers Network for making it possible to grow both our classroom library and my students’ personal collections.”-Nichole Sills, Canyon ISD’s Lakeview Elementary
