#MyGivingStory for education equality and literacy for all

My Giving Story is about the teachers and students we work with, who inspire me everyday. It is about their dedication to support their classrooms, schools, and communities.

My Giving Story is about educators who are the heart and soul of the community. When educators feel the support from their community, that support goes directly to their students, and the support we provide to their students supports their families. It’s a ripple effect. My Giving Story is about the teachers who feel supported and encouraged when we share books with their students, words of encouragement during the holidays, and candy bars to give gratitude to teachers on their campus. It is about the educators who rally their classrooms and fellow peers to participate in service projects that are centered around leadership and literacy. Every teacher needs support along their journey whether they are a first year teacher or veteran teacher.

My Giving Story is about the students who are inspired to take action to support other students who may live 10 miles away and are struggling through life. It’s about students building bonds with their peers to make a difference that changes the narrative of their lives. It’s about students who want to give locally and globally to help students like those in Dominica with our school partners. My Giving Story is about students who say yes to helping rally students and teachers across the nation to spread kindness and literacy. I am truly inspired by our student network and all that they do.

My Giving Story is about the tireless efforts my team continues to make, from our founding members who continue to encourage and support the important work we are doing, to our network of students and educators who are implementing projects to ensure students develop a lifelong love for reading. My Giving Story is about each volunteer working together to become lifelong advocates for education equality and literacy for all. It’s about the volunteers who jump in to help in any way they can because they want to help change lives, one student at a time.

My Giving Story is about the time I decided to start a nonprofit 8 years ago to provide books and supplies to children in Dominica. It’s about the principals, teachers, students and families who showed up to help pave a way for us to help several schools, many educators, and hundreds of students in Dominica. It led to many rallying together to support students who really need it the most. It paved a way for many others to give back while developing leaders, and readers.

My Giving Story is about the many generous individuals who decided to help support the many students and teachers we partner with.

Thank you for believing in our work. Your generosity and support has led to many lives that will never forget the support received from the Leaders Readers Network.
