The Leaders Readers Network Read-Aloud Collection

Standards-Aligned. Science-of-Reading Informed. Classroom-Ready.

Empower every teacher to deliver high-impact read-alouds that build knowledge, language, and a love of reading. Our growing library pairs rich children’s literature with explicit, standards-aligned lesson guides that reflect the Science of Reading.

What You’ll Find

  • State Standards Alignment
Each lesson clearly tags the targeted state standard(s) and grade-level expectations so teachers can search, plan, and document instruction with confidence.

  • Science of Reading Foundations
Every lesson incorporates the “Big 5” (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension) and structured language components (syntax, morphology, background knowledge) appropriate to read-alouds—so students hear complex language, practice oral language, and grow vocabulary and understanding. • Research-Based Instructional Practices
Lessons are intentionally sequenced: activate and introduce content, build/deepen vocabulary and concepts, guide discussion to synthesize meaning, and differentiate practice/response—mirroring widely used, research-based strategies.

How it works

  1. Browse by Grade level or theme.
Search by grade level or themes. Each title includes tags for genre, topics, and standards.

  2. Teach with a Ready-to-Use Read Aloud Lesson
Our read-aloud lessons build students’ knowledge and language comprehension through rich, standards-connected texts and explicit vocabulary instruction rooted in the Science of Reading. Structured talk and oral language routines strengthen listening and comprehension skills, supporting decoding and overall literacy growth.

Let’s work together to create a long-term literacy solution

Email our team to learn how you can participate in our Literacy Fellowship model for rural school districts across Texas. Educator teams (grade levels from Pre-K-3rd) work together to implement the science of reading practices, coaching support, read-aloud lessons, service projects, and book giveaways during the school year.
